Overview

Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine is a sunscreen active ingredient supplied as a white powder. Approved for use in SPF products in countries across the world, this ingredient is highly effective at absorbing UVA radiation, which is the type of radiation that goes deep into the skin to cause damage to the DNA.

However, it does also offer some protection against UVB radiation, which causes tanning and can lead to skin cancer. Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine can be formulated into a wide range of products, including aerosol and other sprayable products, lightweight oil-in-water emulsions, or even decorative cosmetics, such as foundations.
