Overview

Betula alba bark extract is a powerful healing extract obtained from the bark of the white birch. Birch leaves and birch sap are more commonly used as hair tonics, although birch bark has found its use in skincare.

It contains various terpenoids and tannins – which have antioxidant, wound healing, astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a long tradition of use in the treatment of irritated, inflamed, and problematic skin.

The extract might have different consistencies but usually looks almost like tar, with a specific woody aroma.
