Ascophyllum nodosum extract is extracted from the brown sea algae Ascophyllum nodosum, which grows in the Northern Atlantic Ocean.

The brown seaweed extract is a rich source of water-binding algae polysaccharides: fucoids, alginate, and ascophyllan, as well as other bioactive compounds and minerals. Ascophyllum nodosum extract is used as a moisturizing agent in skincare products and also contains phenolic compounds that have antioxidant properties.
