Overview
Arachidyl glucoside is an emulsifying ingredient that borders on functioning as a cleanser, as well.
Both emulsifiers and cleansing ingredients fall in a class of ingredients called surfactants, which essentially means that each molecule has a water-loving portion and an oil-loving portion. This difference in function across the same molecule means that they can help oil and water mix. In the case of the emulsifying capability of arachidyl glucoside, it helps oil and water mix to form emulsions, such as lotions and creams.
On the other hand, the cleansing function works by the arachidyl glucoside surrounding the oil and dirt particles on the skin and allowing water to rinse them away.
