Overview

Ammonium lauryl sulfate is an anionic surfactant, which means it is an excellent cleansing ingredient.

Anionic surfactants are negatively charged and contain both a water-loving head group and an oil-loving tail on the same molecule. The oil-loving tail allows it to surround dirt and oil particles on the skin, and the water-loving head group allows the entrapped dirt and oil to be rinsed away very effectively with water.

Ammonium lauryl sulfate is also a powerful foaming agent. This hazy yellow liquid can boost foam production and creates a creamy and luxurious foam in skincare products.
