Overview

Albizia julibrissin bark extract is extracted from the bark of the Persian silk tree, a beautiful, decorative tree originating from Asia. It has been used in Chinese traditional medicine for the treatment of swelling and wounds.

In skincare products, it may help with skin healing and offer some anti-inflammatory activity due to its compounds. The extract is also used as a fragrance and has a mimosa, honey-like, woody and heavy scent.

Albizia julibrissin is often mistaken for mimosas, as they have very similar leaves that droop at night. The bark extract contains mainly various terpenoid saponins, which have anti-inflammatory activity, although there haven't been any studies on its effects on the skin.
