Overview

Aesculus hippocastanum extract is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and astringent extract derived from horse chestnut seeds. The horse chestnut extract contains triterpenoid saponins, mainly a mixture called Aescin (or Escin).

In skincare, it has beneficial effects on irritated and inflamed skin presenting with swelling, redness, and broken veins.
